Daniel Marin is technical project manager at Telefonica O2. He is leading the project EDMOND (Estimating Demand from Mobile Network Data). Daniel is an expert in pedestrian and transport modelling. At Telefonica he helps developing the capabilities of mobile data and data fusion process for transport modelling. Previous to joining Telefonica O2, Daniel has worked with crowd modelling in the London-based company Movement Strategies. He has developed a simulation tool for pedestrian evacuation. Before joining Movement Strategies Daniel has worked for eight years in Paris developing simulation tools for public transportation. His background is applied mathematics, modelling and simulation.

TITLE OF TALK: EDMOND Project: Estimating Demand from Mobile Network Data

ABSTRACT: TfL and Telefonica O2 are investigating the use of mobile network data to estimate origin destination matrices of people traveling in or through London, split by mode (road, us, tube, overground, walk, cycle, taxi. HGV and LGV). Machine learning techniques and fusion with external datasets will be used to infer modes from the analysis of the mobile network data. Telefonica, Jacobs and AECOM are partners in the project.
