University of Southampton 84 Club

Our purpose

The 84 Club aims to develop links between the University and the principal organisations in Southampton and the surrounding region.

We provide high-level networking opportunities for people in positions of leadership and management who have a shared interest in higher education. Our events enable University executives and academics to meet key players in other sectors and gain an understanding of their needs and concerns. Likewise, members from the commercial and public sector can discover more about the University and what it can offer.

Our ultimate goal is to encourage knowledge sharing, spark new ideas and open up new possibilities for collaborative working for mutual benefit, and for the benefit of the region’s economy.

“By adding together the knowledge and capabilities that exist in some of the area’s excellent businesses and the University’s research and academic resources, you increase the impact of both. It’s like adding two and two and making more than four.”

Kim Hayward, Managing Partner, BDO Stoy Hayward LLP
