The Centre for Contemporary China

The Centre for Contemporary China (CCC) forges strong ties between the University and top Chinese academic institutions and leads on various collaborative programmes in research and student exchange. It strives for research and education excellence in Comparative Studies of China in the areas of Economics, Management and International Relations.

The CCC was established in 2004 and became an academic centre of our Faculty of Law, Art and Social Sciences (LASS) in 2007.

The University has established substantial links with many leading universities and research institutes in China. The CCC has played a pivotal role in facilitating these links and collaborations, and will continue to lead the university in forging more comprehensive links in China. As part of these activities we host a large group of visiting students.

The Great Wall of China

The Centre for Comtemporary China aims to develop further collaborative links between the University and China.

"There is a saying in China that success has to be accompanied by three elements: the right time, right place and right people who work to support each other. With the support and encouragement of the University and its partners in China, I am sure that the Centre will play an increasingly important and influential role in their developing relationship."
