By Car from the M3
Exit at Junction 14 following the signs for Southampton A33. Follow the A33 (Bassett Avenue) straight across two roundabouts until you arrive at a major intersection with the University's Medical and Biological Sciences building to your left. Cross straight over the intersection and continue to follow the A33 (The Avenue). At the major intersection with Lodge Road continue straight ahead and follow signs for the Docks. At the roundabout take the second exit - A33 the Docks. At the junction with Canute Road turn right then left into Central Road (Dock Gate 4), and then left into European Way.
From the M27 travelling from the east
Exit at Junction 5 (Southampton Airport/Eastleigh) and take the first exit off the roundabout. If coming from the west, take the fourth exit. Follow the A335 dual carriageway through one set of traffic lights. At the second set of lights follow the left hand lane onto Thomas Lewis Way and follow signs A33 (the Docks). At the junction with Lodge Road continue straight ahead onto Onslow Road (Bevois Valley Road). At the lights stay in the left lane to the roundabout and take the second exit to A33 the Docks. At the junction with Canute Road turn right then left into Central Road (Dock Gate 4), and then left into European Way.
From the M27 travelling from the west
Take Junction 3 and follow signs for M271 City Centre and The Docks. At Redbridge roundabout turn left onto A35 Redbridge Road. Follow the A33 onto Mountbatten Way following signs for West Quay and the Docks. Turn right into West Quay Road (A33). Continue straight ahead, passing the Grand Harbour Hotel on the left and Red Funnel ferry terminal on your right. Follow the one way system around Queen's Park and turn right onto Terminus Terrace then right onto Canute Road. Follow signs for Dock Gate 4, turn left into Central Road and then left again into European Way.
By Rail
Fast trains from London and Bournemouth/ Weymouth stop at Southampton Central and Southampton Airport Parkway.
Trains from Portsmouth and Bristol/South Wales stop at Southampton Central. There are taxi ranks at both stations.
By bus
- If arriving at Southampton Central, use the south side (platform 4) exit for the Uni-link U1 bus service.
- If arriving at Southampton Airport, exit on the airport side of the station for the Uni-link U1 bus service to Eastern Docks (SOC).
