Student Services

Student Services offers facilities and support to students across all the campuses. The main Student Services building is located on University Road on the Highfield Campus. The department is made up of the following services:

First port of call for support, information and advice -

Student Services Centre: helps students with queries relating to a wide range of topics including ID cards, payments, accommodation, visas and financial assistance.

Residences: we provide a 24/7 service supporting our student resident community in one of the larger halls of residence complexes in the UK, spread over eight locations in Southampton and one in Winchester, which are home to over 6,000 of our students. We offer a residential community experience that provides students with the opportunity to reach their academic potential, to further develop their personal skills and to support their development towards independent living and working.

Enabling Services: provides support in the areas of disability, specific learning differences, counselling and crisis support. This service also includes the Wessex Needs Assessment Centre.

Career Destinations: supports students, postgraduate researchers and graduates in developing their employability skills in order that they can embark on successful graduate careers, enterprise activities or further study.

Sport and Wellbeing: offers a wide array of sport facilities across Southampton for varying abilities and interests, including the Jubilee Sports Centre with 160 fitness stations and a 25metre swimming pool.

Early Years Centre: provides high quality childcare from birth to five years of age for students, staff and local residents.
