Allocation Update
With the release of A level results, we have started to send out offers of accommodation. Because of the huge number of offers to make, these cannot be sent all at once and will be sent in batches over the next few weeks. Please don’t worry if you don’t receive your offer straight away – if you check the Offer and Contracts section of your account at www.onlineaccommodation.soton.ac.uk at least once a week, you will not miss your offer.
We expect to have made the majority of offers to those who applied by the deadline and have met all conditions of the guarantee (see www.soton.ac.uk/accommodation/apply/guarantee.html for details) by the end of August.
Our Halls will be very full this year and consequently we do not expect to be able to offer accommodation to any students who have not applied by the deadline, or to those who reject their offer or who fail to accept their offer. Students in this position will need to arrange private rented accommodation, and there are a number of resources to support this.
Because the demand for our accommodation is so high, it will be necessary to offer twin-shared accommodation for a short period at the beginning of the year to a number of students who have chosen this University as their Firm choice. Insurance choice students applying by the deadline will automatically be offered twin-shared accommodation. Twinned students will be offered single accommodation as soon as it becomes available.
To help meet the anticipated high demand, we are delighted to confirm that earlier this year we secured an area of Orion’s Point, a Hall of Residence in Southampton privately owned and managed by Liberty Living, which will be offered to new undergraduate students.
