Gerontology students awarded prizes

Kathryn Wicks, MPhil/PhD student in Gerontology linked to the EPSRC Care Life Cycle project, was awarded the 2014 British Society of Gerontology Stirling Prize for Best Poster. The title of her poster is "Negotiating social care support for older people: a study of the perspectives of older people, their families and policy stakeholders".

Emily Knipe (formerly Clay) has been awarded the 2014 British Society of Population Studies Prize for Best Dissertation. The title of the Dissertation is "Modal age at death: mortality trends in England and Wales 1841-2010". Emily was awarded the MSc Gerontology (Research) programme with Distinction overall in 2013, and was also awarded the Prize for the best Gerontology Dissertation in her year.
