The Southampton Alumni Association China (SAAC) was established in 2005. The Executive Committee, based in Shanghai, hopes to meet regularly, organising social events and opportunities for business networking. They have also launched a dedicated website for their Alumni Association.

Greece

The University of Southampton Alumni Society in Greece has been unofficially running since 1995, through the initiatives of Dr Fotini Maltezou and her husband Dr Christos Spais. Various events have been organised since, with the support of a core team and the participation of potential Society members. The Alumni Society was officially founded in 1999 and now has more than 200 members. We make continuous efforts to stay in touch with our members and improve our events.

Japan

The Japan Branch has been established since 1979 with the purpose of promoting friendship amongst those with a link to the University of Southampton, as well as continued co-operation with the University.

Kenya

April 2006 saw the launch of the Kenya Alumni Branch in the Serena Hotel in Nairobi, attended by around 20 alumni.

The University’s links with Kenyan students go back to 1959 when our first Kenyan student graduated with a degree in Botany. Since this date, more than 115 Kenyan students have successfully completed their degree at the University in subjects ranging from education, accounting, economics, law and statistics, to computer science, irrigation, engineering, oceanography and environmental science.

Mexico

In February and March 2006, representatives from the International Office and from the School of Electronics and Computer Science (ECS) met up with alumni in Mexico City:
- Eric Cooke from ECS hosted an informal alumni dinner in Polanco in March whilst participating in the CONACyT exhibition.
- During the February British Council exhibition an alumni reception was organised at the Franz Meyer Museum and attended by several of our alumni.

Interest has been expressed in setting up a Mexican Alumni Branch. If you are interested in either helping the Branch or in joining please contact Alejandro at alejandrochavrri@yahoo.com.

Singapore

The Southampton University Alumni (Singapore) branch is now an officially registered society in Singapore. University of Southampton Alumni International Representatives are alumni who have volunteered to represent the alumni community in their country of residence, where a local branch of the Society does not exist. This voluntary, unpaid role can involve some or all of the following:
