Visualisation of the Amazon laser scan

This PTM demonstrates the surface detail captured via the scan, and also the underlying geometric structure. The triangular mesh shown here is approximately 0.1% of the complexity of the data captured via the scanner. Left click and move the mouse over the image to change between the mesh and surface views.

This virtual PTM was generated using a virtual rig designed within the ACRG. Gareth Beale (ACRG) processed the simplified surface model within 3ds Max.
