The Centre for Maritime Archaeology

The Centre for Maritime Archaeology was established to provide a focus for maritime archaeological research within Archaeology at the University of Southampton. Committed to the promotion and practice of maritime archaeology, undertaking projects from local to international scale, the CMA draws on skills and resources of university departments and outside organisations to create a distinctive and progressive environment for research.

• Archaeology at the University of Southampton provides a range of courses and facilities for the CMA and maritime archaeaology research projects.
• The CMA is involved specifically in a number of maritime projects.
• The University and other institutions also provide collaborative links
  for the CMA.
• Practical courses in the Department of Archaeology and through the Nautical Archaeology Society develop invaluable skills for active members of the CMA and students.
