This year we have organised a poster session where students who successfully applied will present data and provide further information to students (and staff) on what you can expect from a summer placement and how you can apply. The poster session is open for staff and students, and we encourage everyone who is interested in recruiting a motivated student to come along.
Similar to previous years, we are inviting second year undergraduate students to express their interest in summer placements funded by learned societies and charities. A placement can help students to increase their employability.
To maximise opportunities for our undergraduates, we will be co-ordinating the applications to each of the funding bodies. The majority of the funders require project supervisors to be members of their particular society and in many cases there is a limit on the number of applications from a specific department, so it is important that anyone wishing to apply for a vacation studentship to advise Jessica Teeling as soon as possible.
An information session for students will be held at 13:00 in B06/1081 followed by a poster session in B85/Observatory from 14:00.
