Outreach

Bringing science to the community

From environmental change to human health, the biological sciences have an increasingly important role to play in solving problems that affect us all.

By setting out the power and potential of science to young people, Biological Sciences aims to spark a passion for discovery and inspire a lifelong interest in the biosciences.

Through our briefing days for teachers and careers advisers, demonstrations and talks in schools and colleges and public events, we are bringing our enthusiasm for science to the wider community.

“Throughout the year, we have a programme of activities to suit different interests and age groups. It could be a discovery session for school students or a visit by a world-class expert to talk about one of the many challenges we face today that we hope can be solved through science.”
