The highlights of my study here have been starting the whole University life and exploring new ideas and concepts. I also look forward to Roy’s lectures in Financial Accounting because he is so enthusiastic and passionate about his subject! Freshers week was also amazing.

I chose Southampton because I wanted to go to a University that had a good reputation and high quality staff, who are also active researchers.

I am currently running for course representative and have been to the Business Fair, which enabled me to gain an insight into summer internships and to think outside the box for which companies to apply for these internships and placement years. I am also going to be attending the J.P Morgan Smoothie Bar, which will be another great experience to gain vital information about post graduate jobs, internships, etc.

I enjoy the new challenges I am facing with learning new concepts, which at first are daunting, such as T-accounts and double entry bookkeeping, but then growing to love them. Furthermore meeting people that have similar interests as me on the course is always enjoyable.

There is a high student population in Southampton, all of which seem friendly, especially during Freshers’ week. The University Library is also a great place to study in quiet and the staff are extremely helpful, and most of the time I am able to find the textbook I need.
