The Complete University Guide released its rankings for 2017 this week and Southampton Business School has seen a boost in the position of all of its subject areas.

Accounting & Finance raised 4 places, from 26 to 22 (out of a total 103 institutions), Business & Management Studies increased 10 places to enter the top 20 (out of a total 119 institutions) and Marketing went from position 20 to 15 (out of a total 81 institutions).

Professor Martin Broad, Head of Southampton Business School, says, "Our improvements in the latest Complete University Guide rankings underline the hard work and dedication of our academic staff to enhance the student experience."

The University of Southampton has upheld its position among the UK’s top 20 universities by placing 17th in the guide, published online today. Southampton is also placed in position 11 among Russell Group universities in the guide’s institutional rankings for 2017.

The Complete University Guide – one of three major UK-based rankings for UK universities – is based on a wide range of criteria. These measures include: UCAS entry tariffs, student satisfaction, research excellence and intensity, graduate prospects, student to staff ratio, university spending on academic services and facilities, the percentage of first degree graduates achieving a first or upper second class honours degree and how many student complete their degrees.
