Postgraduate students attend CPA Australia networking event

On Monday 11 July, Carol Masters, Director of postgraduate programmes, accompanied Yuchen Su (MSc Accounting and Management), Yadong Niu, Yuefan Tang and Helena Zhu (all MSc Accounting and Finance) to a networking lunch at the Shard, hosted by CPA Australia.

 

The luncheon was celebrating CPA Australia’s 130th anniversary and they were keen to take the opportunity to connect business leaders with young leaders of the future. The event featured guest speaker Alex Malley, CPA Australia’s Chief Executive and author of the best-selling book “The Naked CEO”. Alex encouraged the audience to dream big and achieve their goals.

Helena Zhu commented that it was an "eye opening experience", which enabled her to network with a group of high calibre professionals she would not otherwise have met. Yuefan Tang took advantage of the day to get some useful advice regarding her future career and her dissertation.

CPA Australia have a significant presence in the Asia-Pacific region and we are working with them to offer our students further employability events in the future. It is hoped that Alex Malley will be visiting Southampton Business School during the next academic year, so look out for future announcements.
