Business School students impress the Association for Project Management

A team of Southampton Business School MSc Project Management students have won a place in the final of a top competition.

 

The Association for Project Management (APM) contest challenges university students and industry intern teams to organise, manage and deliver a real-life project from beginning to end. They receive mentoring throughout the process from a professional project manager assigned by APM Wessex branch and submit progress reports along the way.

The ‘Southampton-atics’ - Dalia Bukhari, Marija Sindic, Mengqi Du, Qin Xia and Yan Pan - impressed judges at the knockout stage at the Chilworth Manor Hotel and will compete in the Project Management Challenge 16-17 final in Southampton in March 2017. They are organising a charity art exhibition for students at Winchester School of Art and are now preparing a detailed plan for the event to be held in February 2017.

“This is a great opportunity for us to manage a whole project from A to Z,” explains Dalia. “The contest will also help us to widen our professional networks and make valuable contacts. As our team members are from Saudi Arabia, China and Montenegro, we hope our diverse range of skills and talents will help us succeed.”
