Around 40 per cent of UK funded research at Southampton is financed by industry and public sector organisations. Our researchers work with all types of business to assist in developing new products and innovative processes and our partners can gain access to government and EU research funding.

Our collaboration with industry, combined with our achievements in education, enable us to provide high quality professional development opportunities. We already offer continuing professional development in some disciplines, and in others offer programmes which are of professional relevance. We were awarded government funding in 2008 to develop these opportunities further.
