Exploiting world-leading techniques and knowledge to maximise impact on business and policy.
The University of Southampton is looking for businesses to take advantage of government funding for a secondment scheme to utilise applied knowledge and new techniques developed by our researchers.
The Knowledge Transfer Secondment Scheme is available to all research projects funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). We can offer you opportunities to collaborate with key researchers from these projects.
Why take advantage of a KTS?
We currently have around 200 EPSRC funded projects; collaborating with us will give you access to our world-beating pool of knowledge and techniques. Your business will benefit from increased productivity and competitiveness, as well as the ability to solve real-life industry problems.
Who can benefit from a KTS?
The breadth of our portfolio will enable virtually any business within the Science and Engineering sector to benefit, including businesses working in health science, optoelectronics, civil engineering and acoustics.
How does the KTS work?
To deliver maximum impact under the scheme, we are seeking collaborators who are ready to host one or more of our researchers for up to 12 months or to second a member of their own staff to a University team. The lead University researcher on the project will act as an invaluable adviser to your member of staff and in turn your business.
Our funding will cover the full salary of University secondees and we are also able to contribute towards hosting a member of your staff in one of our research teams. In return we only ask that secondments form part of a project to deliver real benefit for your business, customers or society at large.
