Core Programme

people actively taking part in a project

Within the Graduate Passport there is a core programme which all students must complete in order to gain their award. The core activities have been selected to promote continuous learning and reflection. The Core Programme encourages you to go out and gain occupational knowledge, working alongside Career Destinations to develop your employability skills and receive guidance, to enable you to make informed decisions about your future.

The Core Programme amounts to 35 out of a minimum of 200 points. There is no limit to how many points you can accumulate during your course. The Core Programme is mandatory to participate in the passport.

Reflection Sessions

The personal reflection sessions give you the opportunity to assess how the activities have developed your skills and attributes and evaluate what you have learnt from this process and how you will articulate this to future employers and organisations.

Please note you must attend these Reflective Sessions in chronological order (1-2-3). The presentation for reflection session one and the four reflection tools used in these sessions can be found under "useful downloads" in the top right hand corner of this page.

Reflection Session Dates:

Reflection Session One: To Be Confirmed

Reflection Session Two: To Be Confirmed

Reflection Session Three: To Be Confirmed

What is the School Reference?

The Core Programme is based around developing your employability skills and attributes. When you apply for jobs or further education you will be required to provide references. For the Graduate Passport you need to ask your Personal Tutor or Lecturer to write a reference for you. This could be for an actual position you are applying for or it could be a more general review of your progress. You will need to provide evidence of this, either a copy of the reference (paper or electronic) or an email from your tutor/lecturer saying they have written this for you.
