We have developed links to help with the research of specific job sectors including Getting into Environmental Protection, Conservation & Management which maybe of interest to Environmental Science students.

Employability Activities within your degree

Throughout your degree you will undertake a number of modules, which are designed to develop the Graduate Attributes you will need in the work place. During these modules you will learn:

  • The recruitment and selection process within the sector
  • How to create your own environmental consultancy organisation
  • How to apply your industry specific knowledge and standards through real life case studies
  • How to create reports and policies in partnership with large regional organisations

Your tutors and lecturers also have extensive links with local, national and international employers. These employers provide Environmental Science students with placement opportunities, as well as presentations and workshops providing you an insight into the sector.

You are also able to attend an annual alumni event where graduates from the past 10 years return to the University to present and provide you guidance on a range of possible career opportunities.

Find out what the Environmental Sciences Student Society (ESSS) is doing, in the past they have arranged a number of employer talks to offer you further advice and support.
