What we do
We offer a comprehensive range of services to the academic community and beyond, including Cartography and Illustration.We regularly create high-quality maps for leading publishers such as Routledge and illustrate world-leading research undertaken within the School of Geography for top academic journals. We use the latest vector graphics and GIS (Geographical Information Systems) software, giving us an excellent capability for data visualization across a range of media. Our 3D map of Highfield Campus recently won the Wallis Award (for excellence in cartography) judged by the Society of Cartographers.
Cartographic Unit staff share a passion for maps, a keen eye for design, and outstanding attention to detail – we have extensive professional experience to ensure that our products are fit-for-purpose and ready to perform. Above all, we believe in working with you to deliver the best results.
Our mission is to be the finest academic provider of cartography in the United Kingdom and to contribute to the development of the art, science, and technology of cartography through practice, teaching, and research.
