Links with China
The University has established substantial links with many leading universities and research institutes in China. In facilitating these links and collaborations, the Centre for Contemporary China has played a pivotal role and will continue to lead the university in forging more comprehensive links in China.
Tsinghua University
A strong link is in place with Tsinghua, though the graduation school in Shenzhen. The two universities have established a Joint Web Science Lab and a Technology Innovation Centre, both in Shenzhen. (Read More)

Collaborations exist in many areas including a long standing visiting PhD programme in Biomedical Science. (Read More)
Nanjing University
The Universities have a range of collaborations, having established 3 joint Labs. They are currently looking to expand their cooperation in Public Health and to explore possibilities for technology transfer. (Read More)
Xiamen University
The partnership with Xiamen extends across a wide range of subjects from Electrochemistry to Political Science. The universities have joint student programs and hope to see the establishment of a jointly supported Confucius Institute during 2011.
National Taiwan University
Other Links with Chinese Institutions
The university has strong recruitment and educational links with a group of top Chinese Universities some of whose students spend one year as visiting students or 2 years here to obtain a BSc degree from University of Southampton.
