Two Researchers from the Centre for Human Development, Stem Cells and Regeneration were awarded prizes for best oral presentation at the Southampton Medical & Health Research Conference 2017 which took place on the 14th and 15th of June.

Patrick Stumpf (left), a Research Fellow in Ben MacArthur's group, presented his latest research aiming to understand the dynamic process of how generic stem cells acquire specific functional properties by combining single-cell profiling methods with mathematical modelling.

Miguel Xavier (right) is a final year PhD student working under the supervision of Professor Richard Oreffo and Professor Hywel Morgan. His project focuses on the development of new strategies based on microfluidics to isolate stem cells from human bone marrow and promote bone and cartilage regeneration.
