The University of Southampton has scored a hat trick of top 20 placings in UK university league tables after coming 18th in The Times/Sunday Times Good University Guide for 2015.

The news follows Southampton’s previous success in the Complete University Guide and Guardian University Guide. In May, the University experienced a climb of four positions to rank 16th in the Complete University Guide, followed by a rise of five places to 19th overall in the Guardian University Guide.

On a global scale, the University recently featured in the global elite of higher education institutions according to the QS World University Rankings. For the eighth consecutive year, Southampton placed in the world’s top 100 coming 94th overall and 17th amongst UK universities and within the Russell Group of research-focused universities ranked by QS.

“We’re delighted to confirm our place within the UK’s top 20 universities and proud to rank amongst the top one percent of universities in the world,” said Professor Don Nutbeam, University of Southampton Vice-Chancellor. “These rankings clearly reflect and underline the excellent work of our staff and students in maintaining our global reputation for academic excellence in education and research, which is changing the world for the better.”
