Postgraduate Opportunities

The School of Chemistry at Southampton University is a large centre of outstanding research, rated grade 5 in all previous RAE exercises, with excellent links to industry and collaboration with research groups world-wide. Every year between 50 and 60 students join our post-graduate school to study for PhD or MPhil degrees.
The Graduate School was set up to ensure that all postgraduate students receive the highest possible standard of instruction and training and have the best oportunity to contribute their skill and talents to the diverse research programme within the School and outwards to advancing Chemistry in the community.

PhD Complex Systems Simulation

As well as the conventional three-year PhD research programme, we also have one other innovative route to a PhD whereby Students combine a first year of taught courses, followed by three years of PhD Research.  The University has been successful in attracting funding for a DTC in Complex Systems Simulation, please follow the link for further information.
