Ben Lowe

Benjamin Lowe obtained a First Class honors degree in Natural Sciences from Bath University in 2012. During his undergraduate he undertook a Year in Industry, working within the pharmaceuticals company Novartis as part of the Computer Aided Drug Design group, which involved a range of classical molecular mechanics and molecular dynamics simulations. Following this, he was awarded a four year PhD project with the Institute for Complex Systems Simulation. He is current working on using first-principles calculations such as ONETEP and CASTEP towards improving understanding of the silicon-air and silicon-solution interface. His longer term objective is towards generating a multi-scale simulation of electrochemical Field Effect Transistors, which are devices which can be used as highly sensitive biosensors.
