Highfield Campus Map
The University of Southampton is centrally located on the magnificent South Coast. Southampton has excellent road, rail and air links to the whole of the UK and Europe.
TRAVEL BY CAR TO THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHAMPTON
Events are held in various locations across the University so for more detailed travel information, please see the individual maps on the right of this page. Please note that in most cases they will take you to the car park, you will then need to follow the signs, if applicable, to your designated venue.
TRAVEL BY RAIL TO THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHAMPTON
Southampton has two main train stations:
Southampton Central: located in the city centre which is approximately 3 miles from Highfield Campus.
Southampton Airport Parkway: located outside of the city next to the airport which is approximately 2 miles from Highfield Campus.
Fast trains from London and Bournemouth/Weymouth stop at Winchester, Southampton Central and Southampton Airport Parkway. Trains from Portsmouth and Bristol/South Wales stop at Southampton Central.

The University Uni-link bus service runs from the train station and Southampton Airport to the main Highfield Campus www.unilinkbus.co.uk
Charges are approximately £2.00 per adult for a single journey / £3.00 for adult unlimited travel for one day.
Local Taxis also operate outside the train stations. Travel time is approximately 10 - 15 minutes from the stations to the University of Southampton. The charge is approximately £7.00 - £10.00

Your onward journey:
Southampton Airport taxis are operated by Checker Cars.
Checker Cars operates a 24 hour taxi service from Southampton Airport and has an office opposite the arrivals hall. Some cards have swivel seats for easier access and there is a minibus suitable for wheelchair users. To take a taxi from the airport, please go to the taxi desk in the main concourse, near the exit. Your car will then pick you up outside the terminal building.
The fare to your destination is fixed in advance, and you can pay either at the time of booking (credit and debit cards are accepted) or at the end of your journey (cash only).
National Express provides regular services from central London, Heathrow, Birmingham, Bournemouth and the North. Southampton coach station is at Western Esplanade, in the city centre. Our own Uni-link buses connect the University's Southampton campuses with the city centre and both train stations - Southampton Central and Southampton Airport Parkway.
The Uni-Link U1C operates to the University, city centre and eastern docks. It runs every 15 minutes during the week and every 20 minutes at weekends and on public holidays. For details, visit the website www.unilinkbus.co.uk or call 023 8059 5974
