Aims and Objectives
An introduction to the on-line resources available at Southampton of particular use in synthetic chemistry.
Having successfully completed this module you will be able to:
- Familiarity with use of a variety of on-line databases, and types of search strategy.
Topics include the ISI Web of Knowledge; Beilstein and Gmelin databases accessed through the Crossfire client; Schifinder Scholar; and various databases sited at Daresbury (ISIS reaction searching; ACD available compound searching, SpecInfo spectra prediction and searching) as well as use of EndNote to maintain personal databases and reference reports.
