Dr Agnese Vitali is Lecturer in Social Statistics and Demography within Social Sciences: Social Statistics & Demography, ESRC Future Research Leader, Director of BSc Programme in Population and Geography at the University of Southampton.
Agnese Vitali holds a PhD (2012) in Statistics from Bocconi University, a European Research Certificate of Demography (2008) from the European Doctoral School of Demography (Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research and Institut National d’Etudes Démographiques) and an MSc (2007) in Economics and Social Sciences from Bocconi University.
She is currently a lecturer in Social Statistics and Demography and the director of the BSc programme in Population and Geography. She is the principal investigator for a research project on female-breadwinner families in Europe, funded by the Economic and Social Research Council under the Future Research Leaders scheme.
Agnese collaborates with the ESRC Centre for Population Change at the University of Southampton and with the Dondena Gender Initiative at the Carlo F. Dondena Centre for Research on Social Dynamics and Public Policy. She is an expert on family and children at Population Europe.
