Event details

Doctoral researchers at the Winchester School of Art (WSA) are working together to rebrand the WSA PGR Study Room. The rebrand will be launched during the Festival of Doctoral Research.

Words from the two doctoral researchers leading on this event, Richard Acquaye and May Alrasheed:

'This Festival of Doctoral Research and WSA PGR collaboration seeks to tap into the skill sets of some students to rebrand the Winchester School of Art PGR Study Room. It set out to introduce ‘tropically inspired’ blinds, light cubes and cushions that will be used in the WSA PGR Study room.

The space is used on a daily basis, all year round by academics from different parts of the world for seminars, tutorials, group discussions and individual studies. However, apart from the indented and transparent roof, the room lacks character; it has simple straight and white walls with a lot of natural light flooding in from the glass roof.

The combination of the natural light and white walls make the space a perfect blank canvas to decorate. It is anticipated that the proposed modification will introduce some colour, vibrancy and vitality to the study space and showcase our research output in line with the principal aim of the Doctoral Festival.'
