ESRC grant for Economic History project

Published: 29 May 2015

Southampton Economics lecturer Helen Paul has won an ESRC grant for a project relating to historical financial scandals

The World Heritage site gardens at Studley Royal were built by disgraced Chancellor of the Exchequer, John Aislabie. Aislabie’s political career was ruined in the aftermath of the South Sea Bubble financial crash of 1720. Dr. Paul will be carrying out a range of public outreach and training projects for staff and the public at Studley Royal and nearby Markenfield Hall.
