Hi, I'm Sophie Gaunt and I studied PGCE within Southampton Education School at the University of Southampton.

There are fantastic facilities on campus especially the Student’s Union and library and there is always something happening to keep you entertained.

Q: Why did you choose to undertake your studies in Education with the University of Southampton?

I chose the University of Southampton due to its fantastic reputation. I also completed my Undergraduate degree at Southampton which I found fantastic just like the PGCE. Location was another factor and being close to my home made it the logical choice.

Q: What did you enjoy about studying at Southampton?

Overall I enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere there is at Southampton, everyone here is friendly and helpful. There are fantastic facilities on campus especially the Student’s Union and library and there is always something happening to keep you entertained.

Q: What have you been able to achieve as a result of studying at the University of Southampton?

I was able to gain my teaching qualification and therefore secure a job at Wildground Junior School where I am currently teaching a class in year four which is fantastic. Overall I have had a very positive experience at Southampton University. The staff are friendly and approachable; my tutor in particular was brilliant in supporting me through assignments and placements. The campus is also beautiful throughout the year and has all the facilities you could want or need on a daily basis. I have also made some great friends while studying there. I really do think Southampton University is brilliant and some of the best 4 years of my life. I would recommend it to anyone.
