Southampton Education School launches new Institute.

This week saw the launch of the Institute of Professional Practice in Education (IPPE) at Southampton Education School. Senior leaders from regional schools and colleges gathered to hear how they can work together with the new Institute.

Keynote speaker Brian Lightman, General Secretary of the Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL) talked about the ‘Blueprint for a self-improving system’ and underlined the importance of collaboration between schools and Higher Education.

Head of Southampton Education School Professor Marcus Grace outlined the ways effective partnerships can facilitate professional development and joint responses to government funding initiatives as well as to global education developments.

Southampton Education School works with schools and colleges, local, UK and international partners in education and the wider community. The School provides support informed by the latest research through its Institute of Educational Effectiveness and Equity (IE3) and the newly launched Institute of Professional Practice in Education.
