Event details

Get a head start by meeting the staff at our open evening and learn about our career enhancing postgraduate research programmes. We are currently inviting applications for the following research degrees: MPhil/PhD (in Education), EdD (Doctorate in Education).

The MPhil/PhDprogramme is entirely research-focused, apart from some induction training. You might be funded by a UK research council, an overseas government, or the University itself.

The Doctorate in Education degree is a professional, taught doctorate preparing senior professionals for academic, administrative or research positions in all phases of education, training, and health and caring professions in private, public and voluntary sectors. Rather than working primarily alone, your programme includes a substantial taught element and also allows you to locate your research within a broader specialism.

Each of these now include modules from our ESRC Doctoral Training Centre. We are justifiably proud to have been recognised by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) for our Research Training. The ESRC is the leading UK body responsible for funding and supporting the next generation of researchers to become world class. ESRC recognition reflects the high quality of our student recruitment process, and in the training and support they receive.
