Join us in this beautiful outdoor setting for a hands-on morning of activities including pond dipping and meadow sweeps. Find out how to use simple keys to identify, classify and describe invertebrates as related to the National Curriculum. You will have the opportunity to try out activities in the Gardens that you will be able to utilise when teaching in your own school. Bring a packed lunch or eat in the café and then stay on to enjoy free entry to the gardens.

Workshop lead, Carla Thomas-Buffin
BA in Biology and Psychology
Carla is the Head of Education at Sir Harold Hillier Gardens. Using the Gardens as a large, natural classroom, the Education Service delivers outdoor, curriculum-based activities at all key stages, hosting approximately 12,000 students every year on fully guided visits. Carla will give a guided tour highlighting the options available to early years settings and primary schools.
