Counselling Service

Welcome to the university counselling serviceĀ (UCS) web site. The counselling service is provided for all current students and staff of the University of Southampton. Enquiries and requests for information are also invited from past and future students or staff and any other people who might have an interest in the work of the counselling service.

The counselling team are friendly, professional people who are very interested in helping clients access the help or support that they need.

Everyone encounters difficulties and challenges at various times throughout their lives. People manage these difficulties in various ways, sometimes finding help from their family, friends, their GP or from private or statutory services. People may even try to find help or comfort by excessive drinking, drug taking or other activities.

Counselling is just one of the many types of help available to people. If you think counselling might help you, or someone else that you are concerned about, the counselling service will be happy to hear from you.

For more information on the work of the counselling service please explore the rest of the site. Our Code of Practice can be downloaded from the menu on the right.

The Counselling Service on the Highfield campus has good disability access. Please see the DisabledGo Web link for details.
