Accommodation

Adapted Accommodation

The University provides a range of specially adapted accommodation for students with disabilities and the Accommodation Service works closely with both the Disability Advice and Support Team and Estates and Facilities to enhance and extend facilities within the Halls of Residence.

If you think you might need an adaptation to your room in Halls please discuss your needs with the Accommodation Service and the Disability Advice and Support Team before you apply to University. Where reasonable adaptations to rooms and other facilities are required we can usually meet these needs.

If you are already living in halls and think that a small adjustment would benefit you please contact the Disability Advice and Support Team and we can talk about what would help you and how we can have reasonable adaptations to your room carried out.

Living in Halls after your first year

If you have a disability and you would like to stay living in halls past your first year it is possible that a room can be allocated to you. You would need to re-apply for your accommodation at the beginning of Semester 2 to have the possibility of staying in halls for the following year. Please contact either the Disability Advice and Support Team or the Accommodation Service for further information.

For further information about the rooms available in the Halls of Residences please visit the Accommodation Service website.
