Dr Artur Lidtke is a Visiting Researcher within Engineering and Physical Sciences at the University of Southampton.

Dr Lidtke is currently working on the use of computational tools for multiphase flows and hydroacoustics for maritime applications. His collaborative work with the FSI group at Southampton focuses on common themes in those topics, as well as a broader range of subjects related to hydrodynamics and marine robotics.

  • Application of turbulence-resolving flow modelling techniques (DES, LES, DNS) to marine hydrodynamic problems
  • Development of multi-scale flow simulations

  • Improving performance of marine vehicles through careful hydrodynamic design
  • Construction and operation of low-cost autonomous underwater and surface vehicles (AUVs and ASVs)
  • Mission-focused design and performance analysis of marine vehicles through dynamic simulation
