Ship Science graduate awarded MBE

Ship Science graduate Dr Holly Philips has been awarded an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) for services to Maritime Safety and the community in the Queen's Birthday Honours.

Holly graduated with a BEng in Ship Science in 1991 and stayed on at the University to complete a PhD in Marine Composite Structures and later a Master of Business Administration (MBA). She now works as Principal Naval Architect at the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI).
