Bioengineering Seminar
Miniaturising fluidic handling to the micrometer scale has the potential to revolutionise bioanalysis and biomedical research. In our group, we employ lab-on-a-chip devices in clinical diagnostics for heart attack markers or bacterial infection in blood and urine samples, for water quality analysis in resource-poor settings, for quality control of radiopharmaceuticals and also for analysis of tissue biopsies in the context of personalised medicine.

Prof Nicole Pamme, University of Hull. Nicole Pamme is a Professor in Analytical Chemistry at the University of Hull. She started her scientific career with a degree in Chemistry from the University of Marburg (Germany). This was followed by a PhD in Chemistry at Imperial College London and a 2-year stay as in Independent Research Fellow at the National Institute for Materials Science in Japan. She moved to Hull as Lecturer in Analytical Chemistry in 2005.
