Mr Patrick Bechlars is a Postgraduate research student with the AFM group within Engineering and Physical Sciences at the University of Southampton.

As my first degree I did the Diplom (german degree) in applied math at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). My thesis in fluid dynamics and was written at the Institute for Turbomachinery (ITS) at the KIT. During my first degree I worked as a research assistant in different topics of fluid dynamics, algebra and analysis. Further I had the chance to work with supercomputers and got a fundamental knowledge in theoretical and applied parallel computing.
Now I got the chance to be a research student at the University of Southampton and do research in fluid dynamics. I am involved in the project "Is fine-scale turbulence universal?" and will do DNS of turbulent flows.

Research interests:
- computational fluid dynamics
- analytical fluid dynamics
- mathematics
- parallel computing
- turbomachinery

Research interests

Research student with the Aerodynamics and Flight Mechanics research group.

Research project(s)
