Pride and Prejudices: Women’s Writing of the Long Eighteenth Century. An event organised by Southampton Centre for Eighteenth -Century Studies.

English at Southampton and the Chawton House Library are delighted to announce the full programme for Pride and Prejudices: Women's Writing of the Long Eighteenth Century, a major international conference to be held at Chawton House Library: 4-6 July 2013.

The event, which celebrates the tenth anniversary of the opening of the Chawton House Library as a research collection and centre for research in women's writing of the long eighteenth century, will feature 190 speakers, keynote lectures by Isobel Grundy of the University of Alberta and Cora Kaplan, formerly of the University of Southampton, and a performance event by Artifice theatre company entitled Staging Lovers' Vows, a pastiche of Mansfield Park and Lovers' Vows, by Elaine McGirr, RHUL.
