Jubilee Sports Centre
The Jubilee Sports Centre, opened in 2004, is a state-of-the-art £8.5 million complex, located on the University's Highfield campus. The building is located near to the social hub of the Highfield campus, just off Library Square.
The centre is used by over 2000 people every day, including local schools in the morning. Local residents are also able to use the facilities.
Facilities include a six-lane 25-metre swimming pool, which has an environmentally friendly filtering system; a split-level gym with 140 fitness stations - one of the largest facilities of any UK university; an eight badminton-court sized sports hall, used for badminton, netball, volleyball and basketball. It offers international standard training facilities for sports such as badminton, basketball, judo, indoor volleyball, and wrestling.
The sports hall is also used as an exam venue and for events during fresher's week, when special matting is laid to protect the floor surface.
