Launch of the Centenary Photographic Competition

Centenary Celebration Day
Come and visit us on Friday 11 July to learn more about the exciting research and work we are doing that is having an impact all over the globe.
Throughout the day we are hosting a Research Showcase and our department will be ‘open-house’ to staff, students and public alike. We are running a range of activities including a series of talks from staff, past and present as well as demonstrations and displays of our geographical equipment and laboratories.

The research showcase is open to all Geography and Environment staff and postgraduate students to display posters and present their research.

Other highlights include two centenary lectures taking place in Lecture Theatre A – Everyone is welcome to attend:

11:30 - 12:00, Centenary Lecture, Lecture Theatre A. Prof Neil Wrigley “From Shipping to Shopping: Take 2”

12:00 - 12:30 Centenary Lecture, Lecture Theatre A. Prof Keith Barber “Soggy Geography: peat bogs and climate change”
