Estate Agent

 Estate agents tend to be employed by estate agencies and oversee the selling, buying and renting of properties. The job is foremost a selling role, and involves meeting competitive targets.

Estate agents working in the residential sector are involved in meeting clients (both sellers and buyers), liaising with solicitors and financial institutions and negotiating with parties to achieve a sale or letting. In the commercial sector, estate agents manage, sell and let offices, industrial premises, and retail units. Commercial agents may also be involved in property acquisition and development.

Typical work activities

Starting salaries tend to be low, but may be enhanced by bonuses and commission.
