Networking (1) An Introduction to Academic Networking
Course Description
What is networking and why is it so important in academic life? This interactive workshop introduces participants to the ‘what, where, when and how’ of networking. It explores network theory, the altruistic approach to networking and virtual networking. This session will be ideal for 1st year researchers and those new to academic networking. Participants will have the opportunity to practise key skills and exchange ideas on good ‘opening’ and ‘follow-up’ approaches. The session offers participants an excellent foundation for developing networking strategies both in person and on-line.
