Southampton Staff Visit the Embassy of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia

Dr Dan Levene from the University of Southampton headed a delegation to the Embassy of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia on the 2nd of February 2017. He was joined by Chris Sinclair from Modern Languages, Professor David Phillips and Dr Andrew Mortimore from Medicine and Melissa Gibson from our International office. Discussions were had regarding a number of projects that include Humanities collaboration with Addis Ababa University, Humanities and Medicine’s involvement, through THET (Tropical Health & Education Trust), use of UoS resources for support of English for academic purposes, and historical and cultural research as a support to tourism in Ethiopia. The delegation were graciously hosted by his excellency Ambassador Hailemichael, Ambassador Ababi, Mr Yelew Kebede from the Diaspora Division and Ms Angela Kolonga their Press Assistant.
