How to apply

You can apply online for an MPhil/PhD. 
(If you are unable to apply online please email pghums@soton.ac.uk for an application form)

Upload your supporting documents with your online application. If you are unable to upload please send the following documents:

  • Research proposal - there is a guide to creating one in the useful downloads section of this webpage
  • Academic transcript

These can be sent by email attachment to pghums@soton.ac.uk, or by post to:

It is important that you send a copy of your research proposal, even if you have already sent one to a prospective supervisor, in order to avoid delays in processing your application.

You will normally receive a decision on your application (or we will have contacted you for further information/interview) within 3 - 4 weeks of receiving your application and supporting documents.
