Humanities Wolfson Foundation Scholarships now available for 2013 entry

Humanities at Southampton is pleased to offer postgraduate scholarships funded by the Wolfson Foundation. For October 2013 entry, we have three Wolfson Scholarships to award for study at doctoral level.

These awards have been made possible by a grant from the Wolfson Foundation. The Foundation aim to encourage further growth in Humanities research and we are one of nine host universities chosen because of our excellent research track record and PGR growth over the past five years. The other universities who have been granted these awards are: UCL, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Oxford, Sheffield, Warwick, York and SOAS.

For Southampton, the awards are available in three areas of study:

  • English literature
  • History
  • Languages

In joining the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Southampton, you will be joining a thriving postgraduate community with the opportunity to participate in a wealth of activities at subject and Faculty level including a full training programme, an annual student conference, a student-run journal, interdisciplinary research seminars and reading groups, and social activities.

Studentship details and eligibility:

The award has a total value of £78,000 over the three years, covering fees at PhD level (UKEU rate), a living stipend of £20,000 per annum and a sum for travel and other research expenses. These awards are available to UK students.

Please note that to be eligible for consideration for an award you must have also submitted an application to study at the University of Southampton. All awards are made on a competitive basis.
