Humanities offers a broad range of postgraduate masters programmes, some general, others focusing on areas where we have particular expertise. A masters degree can prepare you for the future in a variety of ways providing vocational training, opportunities for in-depth research and a wider cultural understanding.
Our masters degrees lead to an MA or MSc qualification usually after one year's full-time study, or two years part-time study. An MA or MSc qualification includes a period of taught study, followed by the production of a dissertation of 20,000 words.
Programmes at masters level include: Archaeological Computing (MSc pathway); Jewish History and Culture; Eighteenth-Century Studies; Aesthetics; Mediaeval and Renaissance Culture; Film and Cultural Management; Musicology; Creative Writing; Maritime Archaeology; Applied Linguistics; Transnational Studies; and English Language Teaching.
